To Assimilate or Not to Assimulate?

In order to fit in what seems like a corrupted century most people assimilate on what they're not. From buying things they don't need, to simply acting what they're not starts the assimilation in society. Most people do things like that to simply feel like they "click in" with a certain group of people, or to be known for something they're not...they want attention that will eventually be granted, but think about it how long will that really last? Being who you aren't can only go on for so long you'll eventually get tired of not simply being YOU. If your friends are really your friends they have no reason to change or ask anything in return in order to be with them no matter what. As you slowly try going back to the old you and stop being someone you're not real friends will stick with you and maybe not notice but fake ones who were only intresterd in what you were for a period of time will go bye bye. Walter Lee Young from the play A Raisin In the Sun plays a role of assimilation with in his dreams. As a motivation to finally open his eyes in wanting to get a big house with a big yard like the white Americans had in that time, he looks at what they have and he doesn't. He wanted to be like them and get there in order to prove that not only white Americans can get what they have buy that anyone was capable of getting it, including him. A good role of assimilation played in his part because while he tries to encounter his dream he keeps in mind the benefaction of his family with in himself. Although he wants the best for his family he shouldn't have based it on what others had, he should've pushed himself to getting it from the beginning and not through wanting what others around him had. It started as his weekness and it gain him strength to challenge himself in order to accomplish it. As in my everyday life wise people tend to assimilate a whole lot! I've seen it in many occations and it gets me upset. If by being yourself can't get you to "fit in" or "click in" then go try hanging around with a different group of people and surround yourself with people you can be yourself and comfortable with. Be loved. Give love to those you cherish. I can say I don't assimilate what I'm not, but looks can be deceiving. On a first glance from what I've heard can look/seem different than how I am. But I mean I never want things that everyone has because well if I don't have it for a start and haven't had the needs to have one then why get it, right? Assimilation can fool you, don't let it fool you bye bye real you. Many things assimilated by people won't be used in their future so why bother doing it in the first place.

My Familia? OR Me?

Well lets just say I do everything to make my family proud of me. I care for them so much and love them to death. My family and me are as one, I don't separate the two things. Both are important for me and complete my life. I do many things to prove my family and myself that I am capable to accomplish them. I am the oldest and I've always thought that threw me I set the example for my brother and sisters. They have told me that they look up to me and that pushes my standards even higher. So its my family and me there is no or, there is no choice. One without the other doesn't complete my life.

MY American Dream

My american dream is based on my education, and the goals I have yet to accomplish. Going to a college and getting a good job is included. Getting payed really good is pretty much a must for my future. Having that dream house of mine and just enough money for my family is needed, since I have never had the need to ask for money from others. We might not be rich in all its word but we have just enough, and are rich of a lovable, united family. I see a lot of accomplishments in my American dream, and I'm sure that with enough determination all of them will be reached.

The American Dream

The American dream is based on freedom of speech, religion, and happiness. People want the freedom to do what they want but with certain limits. Everyone has different dreams of whatever they want. They can accomplish them if they set their mind on it. Everyone wants to be treated equally and so forth. So everyone has dreams and wants to reach them. They can be personal dreams or dreams that have to do with helping our world or helping a certain group of people. If you don't accomplish them, well there has to be more dreams that follow so don't give up.Maybe keep trying it till you accomplish it if you really want it. Like they say you gain some you lose some.

About me :)

Well I'm Brenda, currently a junior and enrolled in DC and AP classes. Blessed with an amazing family, and God is in the center of my life, all things I do revolve around him. I love spending time with friends, going out with family and friends and having a good time. I like helping out on events or anything. I do talk a lot but try to control myself during class, and mainly love to laugh and make people laugh! Music is a big part in my life too, I listen to it all the time. Love making memories. Play the guitar and enrolled in Dragon News. I plan on going to college (if possible at Illinois) and being in the medical field. I'm starting to look into being a nurse for the army, not so sure just yet. Have BIG dreams, goals that I will accomplish in my future. My education is very very VERY important for me and is pretty much all I'm focus on right now.  I have an 11 old month baby sister and she can be a handful, but I love her more than anything in this world! So yeah that's basically me.
