On a search for Zora Hurston

Walker on his search for Zora's grave finds a series of different clues and finds out things about her from other people's prospective. People that she starts asking starts saying different stories about Zora. One says that her funeral was lonesome and that no one really bothered with it. But two others say that everyone cared and pitched in to bury her. They respected her and loved her and wanted a good funeral for her, but did not really. She got clues out of the way people treated her and were towards her in their opinion. Many of them did not know Zora themselves but would talk about what they would hear. Just like the towns people would in their tradition. They only talk about what they hear, and do not really know what really happened. She finds out a lot about her own culture and how they are through her journey. She builds up on what others tell her but in a respectful way, knowing that they are accurate and not rumors. She grows awareness of how the people are and compares them to characters in Their Eyes Were Watching God.

A sad beginning with an even worst ending.

A heart shattered of dreams unlived, a smile that makes you believe an untold story,
and a husband that does not make me feel like a woman.

That is what I Janie be feelin like
since a little girl ma old nanny wanted to see me married.
But what she didn't see what dat, dat was her dream not mine.
I thought of marriage as something valuable, it was my dream,
but now it's all down a drain.

Lovin was something bound not to happen in ma first marriage. I didnt love that man and never has.
Everything was ignorance in that relationship, the way he was jealous was unnecessary.

So as I met the guy of my dreams I say "Oh Lord, Lord, Lord Amen!" But that wasn't for all ma life. Only showing his good side was what got me... but all that ended once men would just look at ma hair. Him telling me what to do and wut I was doing wrongs, got to my head. And as I pray for yet another day to pass livin in this misery.

Behold the future of Janie...

As Janie got married with the man her nanny wanted her to marry, she thought that maybe she could learn to love him but did not happen. She went on not loving him and he soon began to loose interest in her and started treating her like any other woman telling her what to do but in a less male dominance way but with the same outcome. As once she saw herself with the man she loved she soon met the guy of her dreams. Right after the nanny died she found answers. She ended up running away with the man she met leaving her husband and remarrying. But she does not know that, that was a mistake for what will happen later on with him is worst.

FUTURE...

For high school teens like us our future is full of big dreams. For boys college life is written all over their mind! Some not having a girlfriend is best for them, they have their career planned out and all. Most of the time they know exactly what they will do and where they want to work. They know exactly what they have to do to get there. Unfortunately most but not all guys think about their future as getting married to the dream girl of their dreams, and have their life planned out and all. Maybe its the right thing to do, but thats how guys sound about the dreams in their future.
As for girls it depends what your heart wants. We can easily get influenced by our family to go.for something we dont want. We probably think of our dream life doing what we love with the people we love. Our familyband career are always in the back of our mind as well as guys. Dreams are big and life full of them. Enjoy while you're young and have plans to archive. As we grow up how our future will turn out is always a dream behind our mind.

Violence in THIS Marrige...

The little dog was sitting on the table looking with blind eyes
through the smoke, and from time to time groaning faintly.
People disappeared, reappeared, made plans to go somewhere, and then lost each other,

searched for each other, found each other a few feet away.
Some time toward midnight Tom Buchanan and Mrs. Wilson stood face to face discussing, i
n impassioned voices, whether Mrs. Wilson had any right
to mention Daisy’s name.

“Daisy! Daisy! Daisy!”
shouted Mrs. Wilson. “I’ll say it whenever I want to! Daisy! Dai ——”
Making a short deft movement, Tom Buchanan
broke her nose
with his open hand.

Then there were bloody towels upon the bath-room floor,
and women’s voices scolding,
and high over the confusion a long broken wail of pain.

Money vs. Happiness

Money can buy you all sorts of valuable things, but never true love. Love cannot be brought with money because in reality that is not a love that comes from the heart but instead from interest. One who looks into a person for their status in money wise isn't there because they love them but instead because they need the money, theres all sorts of things you can do to get money but you should never use someone for what they have economically.
For instance money will not be there all the time. There will be times where you'll need to save money one way or another, maybe you get fired or the economy is just at its worst. Things will change and if you dont stick to your partner during the bad circumstances, you shouldn't be there at his best either. Once you die you don't take a single dollar with you in that grave. Yes you need it to get buried or to do whatever you want happening to your dead body...but that will not be your problem anymore. It will be your families and if they truly loved you when you where alive they'll want the best for you once you're far away. Love grows and never fades. It can only get stronger, even with those struggles... love has to overcome it.
I personally would never marry for money. My love cannot be bought, and I will be the only one to choose who to marry. He has to have standards in his life and his bank account will be the last thing I'll worry about. Although he will  need to have his mind set for our future. Because being married will mean we become one and whatever we face we'll face it together. Money wont interfere as long as we have enough to make it happily ever after.

The Role of Appearances

You can appear to be a person you're not by the way you dress, talk, and act. Dressing a certain way always says something about you, weather it's dressing good or bad. The way you speak and how you speak reflects where you come from. And by acting a certain way people are able to tell what type of person you are. Usually the way you dress and act will define (in school wise) with what type of people you'll be hanging out with because you'd probably get along with people you can relate too.
In the period we are living in appearances take a big spot in our eyes. Just by seeing what a person you don't even know is wearing will make you judge them right away. In order to not look different you would most likely wear whats "in" or "the new thing" to impress the people that are around you. When you go shopping you might ask someone how a certain pair of jeans or shirt looks because you don't want to make a fool of yourself once you wear it after buying it. Opinion seems to always be important when its really not necessary all the time, because what you choose is what makes you unique from others. You don't need to buy your clothes at a certain store just because of the brand and because its what everyone is wearing. For one, what you might find pretty in another store might not be pretty at the other or maybe just cost more because of the brand logo. You have to make sure that whatever you get is comfortable while wearing it not just having the brand in front and making you feel uncomfortable. Be yourself, love yourself.
Physical looks don't matter to me but instead the way they are by heart. I look into their personality not at what they are wearing and if their clothing looks expensive or not, none of that! Even by the way I myself dress and act would surprise you if you saw what kind of people I talk to. I don't go off of looks, I just become friends with whoever welcomes me in a friendship, having a nice conversation can already make you my friend. Money never even crosses my mind while seeing or meeting a person. Hopefully money never crosses my mind because well...it's irrelevant in a relationship. I won't want a friend or anyone for their money because thats selfish and thanks to God I've never had the need to come close with someone by money interest and hope I never will. It can be different depending in what type of person you are, maybe looks and money do matter to you...but would you want someone around you for what you have? Look into their hearts and personality not at what someday might be gone.

To Assimilate or Not to Assimulate?

In order to fit in what seems like a corrupted century most people assimilate on what they're not. From buying things they don't need, to simply acting what they're not starts the assimilation in society. Most people do things like that to simply feel like they "click in" with a certain group of people, or to be known for something they're not...they want attention that will eventually be granted, but think about it how long will that really last? Being who you aren't can only go on for so long you'll eventually get tired of not simply being YOU. If your friends are really your friends they have no reason to change or ask anything in return in order to be with them no matter what. As you slowly try going back to the old you and stop being someone you're not real friends will stick with you and maybe not notice but fake ones who were only intresterd in what you were for a period of time will go bye bye. Walter Lee Young from the play A Raisin In the Sun plays a role of assimilation with in his dreams. As a motivation to finally open his eyes in wanting to get a big house with a big yard like the white Americans had in that time, he looks at what they have and he doesn't. He wanted to be like them and get there in order to prove that not only white Americans can get what they have buy that anyone was capable of getting it, including him. A good role of assimilation played in his part because while he tries to encounter his dream he keeps in mind the benefaction of his family with in himself. Although he wants the best for his family he shouldn't have based it on what others had, he should've pushed himself to getting it from the beginning and not through wanting what others around him had. It started as his weekness and it gain him strength to challenge himself in order to accomplish it. As in my everyday life wise people tend to assimilate a whole lot! I've seen it in many occations and it gets me upset. If by being yourself can't get you to "fit in" or "click in" then go try hanging around with a different group of people and surround yourself with people you can be yourself and comfortable with. Be loved. Give love to those you cherish. I can say I don't assimilate what I'm not, but looks can be deceiving. On a first glance from what I've heard can look/seem different than how I am. But I mean I never want things that everyone has because well if I don't have it for a start and haven't had the needs to have one then why get it, right? Assimilation can fool you, don't let it fool you bye bye real you. Many things assimilated by people won't be used in their future so why bother doing it in the first place.

My Familia? OR Me?

Well lets just say I do everything to make my family proud of me. I care for them so much and love them to death. My family and me are as one, I don't separate the two things. Both are important for me and complete my life. I do many things to prove my family and myself that I am capable to accomplish them. I am the oldest and I've always thought that threw me I set the example for my brother and sisters. They have told me that they look up to me and that pushes my standards even higher. So its my family and me there is no or, there is no choice. One without the other doesn't complete my life.

MY American Dream

My american dream is based on my education, and the goals I have yet to accomplish. Going to a college and getting a good job is included. Getting payed really good is pretty much a must for my future. Having that dream house of mine and just enough money for my family is needed, since I have never had the need to ask for money from others. We might not be rich in all its word but we have just enough, and are rich of a lovable, united family. I see a lot of accomplishments in my American dream, and I'm sure that with enough determination all of them will be reached.

The American Dream

The American dream is based on freedom of speech, religion, and happiness. People want the freedom to do what they want but with certain limits. Everyone has different dreams of whatever they want. They can accomplish them if they set their mind on it. Everyone wants to be treated equally and so forth. So everyone has dreams and wants to reach them. They can be personal dreams or dreams that have to do with helping our world or helping a certain group of people. If you don't accomplish them, well there has to be more dreams that follow so don't give up.Maybe keep trying it till you accomplish it if you really want it. Like they say you gain some you lose some.

About me :)

Well I'm Brenda, currently a junior and enrolled in DC and AP classes. Blessed with an amazing family, and God is in the center of my life, all things I do revolve around him. I love spending time with friends, going out with family and friends and having a good time. I like helping out on events or anything. I do talk a lot but try to control myself during class, and mainly love to laugh and make people laugh! Music is a big part in my life too, I listen to it all the time. Love making memories. Play the guitar and enrolled in Dragon News. I plan on going to college (if possible at Illinois) and being in the medical field. I'm starting to look into being a nurse for the army, not so sure just yet. Have BIG dreams, goals that I will accomplish in my future. My education is very very VERY important for me and is pretty much all I'm focus on right now.  I have an 11 old month baby sister and she can be a handful, but I love her more than anything in this world! So yeah that's basically me.
